GPSBob Mongoose ADR Driver Tags Help &Troubleshooting Guide

What are ADR Tags and how do they work?

ADR (Automatic Driver Recognition) tags are small wireless
fobs used with your Mongoose vehicle tracker. They confirm that an authorised
driver is present when the vehicle is being used.

When your vehicle is started, the tracker searches for a
nearby ADR tag:

  • If a tag is detected → the driver is recognised
  • If no tag is detected → an alert or immobilisation may occur

These are commonly required for insurance-approved
tracking systems
, helping protect your vehicle from theft and unauthorised
use.

Unauthorised Driving Alerts - Mongoose S5

These alerts occur when the vehicle is started or moved
without detecting your ADR tag.

To avoid this:

  • Always carry your ADR tag when driving
  • Ensure the tag is powered on and working
  • Keep the tag within range of the vehicle when in use.

Immobilisation - Mongoose S5+

To allow your vehicle to start:

  • Your ADR tag must be present before starting the vehicle
  • The system will detect the tag and automatically disarm the immobiliser

If the tag is not detected, the vehicle may remain
immobilised.
